Thougth i'd toss up a screenshot of the daniel tieken website i finished recently. It's available to see at www.danieltieken.com . Not a very productive day today. The Guitar Center called me today and said there will be open interviews on thursday. Hopefully I make a good impression and get a job for a while. I need it I tire of sitting around here every day wishing i was being productive. Gonna make a quincy run tommorow. Finished the movie of the zoo but i was having troubles with idvd burning the movie. The movie looks pretty good now it's only a matter of figuring out why iDVD didn't want to burn the project right. Hopefully i get it squared away soon. Laters.

Ha found a pic of the animals doing the dirty deed, couldn't help but post it. Enjoy...but not in a weird way please.

So we checked out the zoo today. I love that place. I'm like a little kid there all amazed by animals and stuff. I brought my digital video camera and my digital camera today, got about a half hours worth of video that i'm already playing with in iMovie and iDvd. Among the sites at the zoo were a killer penquin display indoors, penguins were really active and fun today. There were also these two weird looking huge rabbit dealiis doing the nasty in the water. It was amusing, felt kind of dirty taping it though...but hey, that's nature. I did however manage to enhance the experience in iMovie by overdubbing the audio with a little Marvin Gaye's Let's get it on. Yeah, it's the simple things in life that make me smile. I checked out the sunday post dispatch and saw a couple of ads for part time graphic designers. I was able to locate on on maps.com and it's like a half hour drive, I think i'll probably go ahead and apply, even thought it's far away and only part time. I'm hoping to hear something from anybody this week about all the applications i've put in this past week. I'm planning on a Quincy run this week to settle some banking issues and grab a few miscellaneous items that I continue to forget at the house. Not much else happening. Peace.

Thought this was a neat little quick pic of my acoustic. I've finally started picking it back up again. It's been a long time since i put the guitar down and stopped song writing because of a musical and lyrical rut of sorts. But after about five minutes of messing around I had alot of different ideas. For a long time i figured my music days were over, but I think I definately have another album in me. It's alot of work to do, but if i continue to have ideas like i've been having. The idea of a new album is definately looking good. Heck, since I'm in St.Louis now there might even be decent open mic nights around here. I'm not getting my hopes up, but that'd be neat to get out playing again...especially for people who will appreciate the music. Nothing against quincy...but the kids there don't want anything to do with your music if you're not punk emo or hardcore. Hopefully St. Louis may be more open minded. I've been applying at more places today, a guitar store, an office supply store, and borders... book store. I doubt anything will pay off, but it would definately be nice. I've recently just got a new web server lined up at www.godaddy.com I'm hoping to redo the travishoffman.com website so that i can incorporate my blogs and other aspects of life into it. We'll see how that goes. Finished Daniel Tieken's website. I'm pretty happy with it. Well that's about it I suppose, I think we're going to the zool tommorow. I'm gonna bring my camera and digital video camera and hopefully get some cool stuff to play with with Final Cut Express and photoshop. Laters.

Something I'll probably not see in a while. The bell tower at Western Illinois University. Hard to believe college is finally over. Won't miss the town of macomb, but the friends and professors i've come to known I will miss indeed

Aye, I'm sleepy. I'm also thirsty. An unfortunate situation to be in to thirsty to fall asleep and too tired to get up and quench my thirst.....I'm lazy. Not many things to report today, of course for me there never really is, but I'm gonna continue to use the word "report" to pretend that anything I say is of some great interest to a completely pathetically bored individual. April and I checked out the new Jack Black/Ben Stiller comedy Envy this afternoon. Pretty good flick. I think both gave a very good performance. Black continues to display his great physical comedy abilities while Stiller give his typically hilarious everyday man with issues role. I must say a scene stealer was Chris Walken who really played his bum strangely agreable person to a delightfull degree. I recommend you all check it out if the opportunity presents it's self. Checked out the Sunday Classifieds there are two adds for graphic designers. I'm gonna see about following up on them tomorrow. Lots of stuff I need to do tommorow. Sure am glad there's no job or way of income to get in the way of sitting around the house going insane........not. I'm gonna bring this entry to an early close I think. I'm sleepy and my thirst has grown to a disturbing level to where I think i'll actually do something about it. Peace.

Once again I come to you from the balcony. It's a beautiful evening here in ST. Louis. Let me define a perfect evening in my point of view. Cool and crisp at about fifty degrees. it's a very quiet nite and I sit looking down on the backyard of sorts of the apartment. It's really not much more then a lawn of probably fifty feet with a thicket of trees and bushed as the boundary. When I stepped out i saw in the distance two racoons shyly wandering out of the bushed to see what kind of mischief the night would bring. Before long the two disapeared quietly down into a sewer drain that resides at an outer point of the yard. I can't help but be reminded of when i was much younger growing up in the country. Being out in the country animals and nature was all around you. At one point two racoons decided to make a home in the rosebush that resided at the base of a tree in front of the house. I must have only have been five or six. But i still remember the delight of peering through the front window watching the two racoons wrestle around and play all while quickly seeking the shelter of the rosebush at the nearest sound of the human presence. The two racoons must have inhabited the rosebush for several months. I'm not for sure when they disapeared from the little home or the circumstances leading to it. Such is the case though for most of childhood memories, you remember the best parts. All the things that made you smile seem to outweight the details of events that made you cry. The country will always hold a huge place in my heart growing up among the dirt roads, getting into all kinds of varied mischief. Memories of times passed can sometimes really make a moment or even a day. In my opinion, it's these little moments that make up the best part of life

Greetings once again. I'm comming to you from my balcony. Wireless connectivity is definately heavenly. As i sit here smoking my pipe I'm listeining to the far off traffic and hustle and bustle of the big city covered by sounds of the crickets and night insects. It's really quite beautifull. I had my interview at Kinko's today. I think it went pretty well, but I'm not going to hold my breath. The manager Jon, was a nice guy and we talked in his office for a while. I should know if the position is mine by friday, we'll see. I won't be heartbroken if i don't get it, but it would definately be nice to have a source of income...that's for darn sure. It was the darndest thing however this morning, I arrived about an hour early, unfortunately this is my usual method of timing, i'm so beyond punctual it hurts. I get to the parking lot, which is also a Lowe's a Ultimate Electronics, and another misc home goods store, and what do i see. Two geese just walking around the barren parking lot. Upon first glance i didn't know what to think, but sure enough there they were two geese just wandering aimlessly. For some reason I was shocked by this. In the middle of Saint Louis here's these two geese just taking it easy. In my mind I thought, hey, maybe this town isn't so big afterall. I mean in all my days in Quincy...a much smaller town, never once did I see a couple geese maulling around in a parking lot. I must admit comming to Saint Louis I was quite overwhelmed by the difference in size and the hectic atmosphere, the thought of driving around on extremely busy highways made me cringe. Well now that I've been here for about a week, i'm starting to get into the flow of things, going out looking for new places. I think that it helps me to break down the HUGE city into portions, the divide and conquer thing I suppose. Living with April isn't much different then I expected it would be. I do somewhat though miss some of the alone time. I've always been pretty introverted and I've always had a large amount of alone time and personal space. It's really not a big issue, so much as just an adjustment. I enjoy sneaking out to the balcony every now and again and just sitting amongst my thoughts and taking in the silent symphony that is the night. The world definately is spinning alot faster then it used to seem. But I think i can keep up just as long as I'm willing to pick up the pace. I'll probably head to quincy on friday and grab some miscellaneous things I've forgotten. It's weird i'm so used to be ing on the road every weekend. It's gonna take some gettting used to to plant my feet in one place. I'm not worried about it though. Well I imagine i'll head on inside and think about sleep. Till next time, Laters.

We're all moved in. Just settling in the new apartment. After a bit of toil and termoil i've finally gotten the internet to all my computers. It's nice to see my Dell and G5 getting to know one another. Not to mention it's nice to have all the comps in the same room...let alone the same town. I'm back on the scent of a job here in St. Louie, got an interview tommorow at a kinkos about fifteen or twenty minutes away. I think i got a pretty good chance of snagging the job, but we'll see. I figured kinko's isn't where i want to be for long, but it should turn out to be a nice leapboard to other genres, not to mention i'll get an increased knowledge base with the printing/bindery scene. I'm just finally getting everything organized here in the apartment and i REALLY need to finish up a couple jobs and get a communication started again, last couple of weeks have been busier than i had imagined them being. Oh well. Picked up Farcry for the Dell, i've heard it has some mad graphics and is fun, i was not disapointed. Problem with me and first person shooters is that i get so deep in the game that like it'll startle me sometimes if one of the bad dude jumps up. feel like an idiot sitting there and then getting startled. Oh well, peace out.

Hey...i'm not dead. Well it's been a tid bit under a month since my last entry...BUT IT'S NOT MY FAULT! Let me explain. For the last two weeks I've had NO internet in my room at school. Isn't that just freaking convenient. It took the piss-poor run Resnet people here at the non tech savvy Western Illinois University to even come and look at it. I knew it was not my computer and that it was on there side. Two weeks later after me calling them every other day I finally get some response. Here's the absolutley divinely insane annoying , beautifully absurd thing...ready? Here we go, Apparently the idiots decided to turn off my port on the network because they CLAIM that my router was causing other people to try to access my IP. First of all that's total complete bull. My network was WEP encrypted. What I find the most insulting is that no one EVEN let me know they were going to shut it off, nothing , no call, no email...guess I wouldn't have got it anyway. NOTHING. So ergo the second to last week of school where all of my final projects were due, and I have NO internet, kind of thorn in my side when Two of my classes are WEB RELATED. So i manage to eek through that week by being a nomadic internet junkie among my floor and computer labs. So monday rolls around, and guess who give me a ring at Eleven PM. A resnet "technician" and yeah i use that term extremely lightly. The dude shows up I tell him that my computer won't recognize the jack and he tells me the situation of them shutting down my port. I was PISSED. Next day they threw a switch and now it's back. It took two weeks for them to correct something that THEY did to me without telling me. ALL by the flip of a switch. Won't be missing this school and the countless idiots that make up a large portion of it.

On a happier note, We got the apartment, and are getting ready for the big move this weekend. Spend the weekend there last weekend and was reminded how a back and a floor to sleep on don't mix. Did however get Charter Broadband and cable put in. Exciting times, no word on the job search yet, but i'm putting in applications to electronic stores that surround the apartment. Good times. Well hopefully i'll be able to keep this blog updated now. Oh yeah my buddy Nathan just picked up a New 15" powerbook this past week, he's gonna love it. My Mac obsesiveness appears to be contagious. Well till next time, later.
